MailMunch is one of WordPress's most popular email marketing tools. Users love its easy-to-use interface and interactive form designs. Another plus is that it's compatible with almost all content managers and web platforms, including Joomla, WordPress, Magento, Drupal, Shopify, and more.
This plugin is great for lead generation. MailMunch allows you to create opt-in forms (popups, scroll boxes, etc.) for collecting email addresses and other information from visitors.
How To Use MailMunch
First, you need to install the MailMunch plugin and sign up for your free MailMunch account.
Now you're ready to create your first email subscription form.
Open the ‘MailMunch' tab on the left panel of your WordPress dashboard. Select ‘Forms', and then click on the blue ‘Create Your First Optin Form' button.
It's time to select the type of your opt-in form. There are five different types of forms: Embedded, Popover, Scrollbox, Topbar, and Sidebar. It also shows you where visitors will see the form and how it will look.
MailMunch generates a heat map of your site as well, which you can use to determine form placement.
For our example in this guide, we chose the Popover form type.
Next, choose a theme. Only two are available for free. You'll need a premium account for additional themes.
After selecting the theme, you'll be redirected to another page where you can customize the form color, background, buttons, and text size.
The default text reads “Join Our Newsletter”. We recommend you change this to something more unique.
If you're familiar with HTML coding, you may want to take advantage of the ‘Custom HTML' option. This opens a text box where you enter your own code. You can also personalize the welcome message that's displayed when a visitor subscribes to your blog.
Premium members can replace the MailMunch logo in opt-in forms with their own logo. If you have a free account, move on to the next step.
This is where you choose how the opt-in form will show up on your site. The Popover form type can be set up so that there's a delay before the form appears.
MailMunch has an option that tracks the mouse movement of the user and displays the form when the user acts like they're about to leave the page. This is helpful, because if a pop-up appears too soon it might frustrate the user and drive them out of your site.
Email Subscription Service Integration
The final step is to connect your opt-in form to an email subscription service, such as Aweber or GetResponse.
If you don't currently use an email subscription service, don't worry. MailMunch saves all subscriber information in their database, so you're able to export your data as a CSV file whenever you want.
To start email integration, click on your provider and log in to your account. You'll be prompted to authorize MailMunch to access your subscriber information. Then, select ‘Finish Setup', and you're good to go.
MailMunch makes email list building fast and easy. It gives you more time to focus on your content. And hey, you can't beat the $0 price tag.
