  • Sebastian Fratini

Hi! We started also with a free WordPress site but eventually moved to a paid service since the difference is always worth it. We use a site in http://uni.verse.hosting and so far we have had no issues and everything runs great, fast and responsive. Lots of extras too, like plugins, themes, CDN, webmail, ecommerce, etc.

We used to host the website ourselves but eventually decided that it was better to outsource it.

  • I don’t think so. But the terms are different for different companies, so I would suggest you to go through the terms and condition before you go for any option.

  • Juan Rodrigues

I used free hosting up until 3 months.I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Constant downtime, bad support are not good for any webmaster.

To be fair I cannot expect more from something that I don’t pay for.

That is why I decided my next host to be Rosehosting because their servers are managed and their support is great. Good and reliable uptime is also their feature.

I don’t think I’m going back to free hosting again.

  • Hi Juan, thanks for sharing your feedback. Obviously, we can’t expect great performance from a free service.

For everyone who is serious about their site, I would also recommend you to go for quality paid hosting. Check BlueHost, they offer great hosting service and a free domain name to start your online business.

Also, as SourceWP reader, you get a discounted price, https://www.sourcewp.com/how-to-create-wordpress-blog-with-bluehost/

  • Marian Heddesheimer

This article seems to be outdated. When I try the bluehost link, there is no free WordPress hosting, they all start at $3.95. And the link to the Node free hosting is just a landing page for the bluehost offer.

I would suggest that you edit your article and remove these two.

  • I guess, you have not gone through the article. Where do you see free hosting offer from BlueHost in the article? We spoke about exclusive deal for Sourcewp readers with discounted price.

  • Marian Heddesheimer

Ah I see, the first one is not free. But still, wpnode is claiming that they offer free hosting, and they redirect to bluehost. Maybe bluehost did offer free wp hosting in the past and discontinued the offer?

  • Yes, that could be the reason. Will remove them from the post right away.

  • Marian you are right

  • cuqpon

wordplus.host offers fully featured free plan for personal blog hosting as well!

  • Sam

I would suggest looking up WPX Hosting, they’re edging out the competition in terms of service quality and quantity, even above WP Engine. Would like to know what you think.

I hear BlueHost is ok, but only for a small blog or something. After the EIG bought BlueHost, their service quality dropped and just aren’t made to handle higher traffic. Most companies under the EIG seem to perform similarly once taken over and get average support.
